This is the perfect time of year to be reflective on what has passed and set your sights on what is to come.

It's been a busy year. I have heard this from nearly everyone I have spoken to lately.
What's happened in your world?
Take the opportunity of a little down time over the holidays to not only relax and recover but look back on the last 12 months and take stock on how far you've come.
What opportunities have you grasped with both hands and what has slipped through your fingers?
What lessons have you learned?
What would you do differently?
Which areas do you feel need focus and growth?
No matter what, be proud of what you've achieved but set your mindset, intentions and actions for the coming year.
I always encourage my athletes to reflect on their weeks, months and now year.
Make a cup of tea or coffee, find a quiet place in the chaos of the festive season and answer:
What have been your biggest accomplishments this year (career, personal, training/hobbies)?
What was your biggest mistake and how did you learn from it?
What was your favourite memory?
What are your strengths and how will you capitalise on these?
What are your weaknesses and how will you improve on these?
What are you looking forward to most about next year?
What goals/interests do you want to pursue?
How will you make these a reality?
Describe the last year in three words.
Once you've done this, you can not only reminisce but create ACTION for moving forward.
For your New Years Goals, split three columns into Personal, Career, Hobbies (these may vary person to person) and bullet five points under each as what you're going to do in order to grow.
This is NOT a New Years Resolution post, far from it, but an opportunity in reflection, awareness and development.
Enjoy the down time of the festive season, plan to get ahead of the game and know yourself for coming into next year.
